In this blog, I'll share a few tips and tricks to help you along your journey and explore all the exciting possibilities that wax melts have to offer.
But firstly… what are wax melts?
Wax melts are different from candles as they don’t have a wick, but they give off a longer lasting fragrance compared to candles. Simply pop your wax melt on top of a wax burner with a candle underneath. It’s that easy! We have so many different kits and fragrances you can choose from.
If you or your customers worry about naked flames at home, you can also use these wax melts in electric burners, so your customer has two different ways to use your creations.
You can show your customers how to create a burst of unique fragrances and how to experiment by adding two of your handmade melts at once. Ever fancied your house smelling of mango AND coconut? You can get creative with the range of fragrances available to create perfect wax melts for your customers.
How to make wax melts?
To make your own wax melts, you'll need wax, a fragrance oil of your choice, dye or mica powder (if you choose), a melting pot, a thermometer, and a mould. You can get all these supplies in our Fizzy Whiz Kits plus all additional supplies on our website!
Start by melting the wax in the melting pot. Keep an eye on the temperature because you'll need it to reach a certain point before adding the fragrance oil (and dye, if you're using any). Before pouring the mixture, sprinkle some glitter into the mould. Then, pour the melted wax into the mould and let it cool for a few hours. Once it's hardened, allow to cure for 24 hours if using our coconut and rapeseed wax or two weeks with soy wax!
Why not take a look at all our different silicone moulds? We have so many variations for you to try and test to make the most beautiful wax melts for your customers! We also offer a wide range of clamshells so they are ready to sell to your customers without the need of repackaging.
